Super Service Makes My Day!

Something that we all do regularly is shop in supermarkets.

In this article I will look at my experience shopping in my local supermarket and the kind of customer service that I received.

During a recent shopping trip I had the need to ask an assistant where I could find some carpet cleaner.

Luckily there were quite a few supermarket employees on the shop floor and it wasn't long before an assistant were showing me to the display of cleaning materials and products.

On display was a vast array of products, but not one that could clean carpets. The supermarket assistant told me that the lack of carpet cleaner in the store was due to lack of demand.

This I found quite incredible as most homes in my neighbourhood have carpets on the floor. Luckily, the story didn't stop there.

The supermarket employee paused for a moment and told me where I could find a suitable cleaning product. Not in their supermarket, but at a local store down the road.

She told me exactly how to get there, where to park and even told me how friendly I would find the people working there.

Although disappointed that I couldn't find what I was looking for in the supermarket, I left the supermarket feeling happy and elated that the assistant had gone beyond the call of duty and treated me like a fellow shopper rather than a customer whose only value was in making a purchase.

Suffice to say I will be returning to that supermarket, not for something to clean my carpet of course, but to experience the helpful and friendly customer service I know I will receive.
