Top Customer Service Interview Questions

When applying for a job in customer service, it is important to familiarize yourself with some customer service interview questions. Preparing yourself for what will be asked by the interviewer allows you to give an answer that is honest and efficient.

If you hesitate during an interview, the interviewer will think that you are incapable of handling a job in which you deal with the public.

In dealing with the public, you must be on your toes at all times to answer questions as quickly and efficiently as possible. Therefore, how you respond to the interview questions is part of what determines your ability to handle the job.

Some of the top customer service interview questions:

Define customer service

Describe what you consider good customer service

How do you handle customer complaints?

Why do you want to work in this particular store?

Why do you think customers shop at this store?

These are just some of the top questions that are typically asked during a customer service interview. In order to get the job, you must be able to provide a well thought out answer.

The interviewer will know if you are being honest so do not go overboard. Just stick to the facts and remain calm.

When defining customer service and describing what you believe to be good customer service, it is best to place yourself in the shoes of the customer. Imagine how you want to be treated when you walk into a place of business. In doing so, you will be able to answer these questions easily and honestly.

If you show the interviewer that you are capable of looking at things from the customer's perspective, they are more likely to be impressed with your answers and hire you for the position.

Another thing to remember when answering some of the top customer service interview questions is to remain professional and courteous. The person asking you the questions holds the key to your future with the company in which you are applying.

Therefore, provide accurate responses such as telling the interviewer that you would handle customer complaints in a timely, courteous, and understanding fashion. Assess the store so you can honestly tell the interviewer why you want to work there and why you believe customers shop there.

If you notice a particular quality about the store, be sure and bring it up as this will show the interviewer that you are observant.
